Chmarošský viadukt - The Chmaroš viaduct near Telgárt village

The Chmaroš viaduct located just few kilometres from Telgárt is one of the most significant and pittoresque technical monuments in Slovakia. Used as a bridge for trains, it is 113.6 m long and

18 m height on railway 173 between Červená Skala - Margecany at the foot of Kráľová hoľa mountain. The viaduct is historically first arc-like structure of reinforced concrete in former Czechoslovakia. For its outstanding charm the viaduct is a popular site for many tourists and photographers.

Source of the river Hron

The river Hron is second longest river in Slovakia. With its length 298 km it flows only in Slovakia and terminates in Danube river in southwest in village Kamenica nad Hronom. The source of the river Hron is situated at the southeast foot of Kráľová hoľa mountain in 980 m above sea level.

Kráľova hoľa mountain

Kráľová hoľa is the heighest peak of east part of the Low Tatra mountains. The mountain is connected with legends in local folklore and is a subject of many songs and poems. It belongs to the most visited mountain peaks of the Low Tatras. From its peak the mountain offers one of the most beautiful sights on High Tatras, Spiš region, Liptov region but also on the Upper river Hron valley. Since 1960, radio and television transmitter tower is located at the top of the mountain.

Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows

The chapel is located in a field near the lane between Pohorelá and Pohorelská Maša. The site is not only place of serenity and prayers but also the place with beautiful views on peaks of Low Tatra mountains and Upper river Hron valley.
